Shows to Binge on Netflix

Person using an Apple TV remote for their TV

When you’re sitting at home in your Kissimmee, FL apartment, bored out of your mind, you’re going to want to find something to do. Thankfully, technology has advanced to a point where we now have streaming services so we can watch videos on demand. Netflix, one of the more popular streaming services, offers a variety of TV shows and movies that can provide hours of entertainment. In this week’s Laguna Place Blog, we’ve got a few suggestions of shows you can binge watch to pass the time.

Riverdale

If you’re familiar with the Archie comics, you’ll be able to recognize the characters in Riverdale. The series is based off of those comics and does a wonderful job bringing the characters to life in a more teen-centric drama. Follow Archie, Jughead, Betty, and Veronica as they navigate high school and being a teenager. This series touts a grittier and darker theme than the comics, diving into the more supernatural and detective-esque nature of the comics, so don’t be surprised that the show is starkly different from the comics! Three seasons and counting, so don’t binge too fast!

Stranger Things

If you’re looking for something that will suck you in, watch Stranger Things. This series has taken the world by storm. The series follows a few character story arcs but focuses heavily on a group of kids and their dealings with supernatural occurrences happening in their fictional town of Hawkins. The series starts with the disappearance of a kid named Will Byers, an original member of the group of kids the series focuses on. Will they find him? What other spooky things will happen? Find out by watching!

Gilmore Girls

If you aren’t into the supernatural, you can avoid the two suggestions above and watch Gilmore Girls! Find out what Lorelai and Rory are up to as they live their life in Stars Hollow. The series explores the difficulties of a small family, with a single mother raising a teenager and the teenager navigating her way through high school. Love, romance, education, friendship, and social class are all issues that manifest themselves through this series.
