Thanksgiving Meal Ideas

Thanksgiving is a time when people get together to share a meal! Centered around the table, your Thanksgiving meal should be one that everyone enjoys, so take time to put some thought into it! In this week’s Laguna Place Blog, we’ve got a few suggestions for you for dishes you could make for your friends and family this Thanksgiving!

Prime Rib

  • 7 Pound Standing Rib Roast Prime Rib

  • 2 Heaping Tablespoons of Kosher Salt

  • 1 1/2 Teaspoons Black Pepper

  • 4-6 Cloves of Garlic minced

  • 4 Tablespoons Unsalted Butter

Don’t settle for the traditional Turkey this Thanksgiving. Branch out and try this recipe for prime rib, and you may even make this your Thanksgiving staple instead! It’s not a complicated recipe, so try it out this year!

Pressure Cooker Mashed Potatoes

  • 6 medium-size russet potatoes, peeled and quartered

  •  ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted

  •  ½ to ¾ cup milk, warmed

  •  Salt and freshly ground black pepper, for seasoning

 

Mashed potatoes isn’t the most complicated dish to make, but it gets a lot easier with a pressure cooker or instant pot. Check out this recipe that is sure to save you time while still being delicious! 

Cornbread

  • 1 cup (120g) cornmeal

  • 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour (spoon & leveled)

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled

  • 1/3 cup (67g) packed light or dark brown sugar

  • 2 Tablespoons (30ml) honey

  • 1 large egg, at room temperature

  • 1 cup (240ml) buttermilk, at room temperature*

 

A good meal deserves a good side dish, which is why we’re sharing this recipe! Cornbread is a great side dish to pair with any Thanksgiving meal!
